It's been a while since I wrote a real journal lately, right
? O.O
I've been incredibly busy and have hardly had the time to relax. It's just been work work work...
And now I got a nasty cold so I haven't gotten back my ordinary life yet.
Most of the work that kept me busy was connected to SIC/SIS, Stockholms International Comic Festival that was last weekend. It was amazing and as always I met so many awesome people! Even some of you from dA came and that made me so happy! 8D Thank you!
I sold my new colour comic 'Vienda' at the festival. I will put it up for online sale later if any of you want to buy it. Though I will probably also post it online, but not until later this summer.
Gah, I have so many things I want to tell you, so I'll just try and break it up in pieces! XD Enjoy!
300K kiriban! Taken by
KarienPryde
Wow... O.O Can you belive it? I'm soon reaching 300.000 hits here on dA. Not that numbers are important, but it's still quite the milestone for me. My first kiriban was 10.000 hits a few years ago and it felt so big at the time. It's still awesome, but sometimes I just can't grasp how long I've been on dA, shared my art and talked to amazing people. It's been a fantastic journey, and hopefully it will keep on going for another couple of years!
AS ALWAYS!
The FIRST person who get's the 300.000 hit and sends me a screenshot of it IN A NOTE, will get a commission from me.
A one character, cellshaded piece with a character of your choosing.
Only the first person will get a commission, sorry.
And speaking of commissions...
Commission thoughtsI've been thinking a lot about my commissions lately, and I'm kind of stuck in a dilemma.
As some of you might know, I'm trying to make a living out of my art right now. I'm working freelance as a graphic designer and illustrator here and there, and it's really fun!
But here's the thing. My commissions are too cheap.
Some of you might not agree, but according to artists standard, my prices and a lot of others here on dA is a disgrace to the illustrator business as a whole.
I've seen people take only 5 dollars for a full illustration and that's crazy!
I think this way of thinking is something that was born here on dA (among other places), and it's really hurting 'real' illustrators, and it's also misleading dA artists who things that this is a normal price.
I'm part of an organization here in Sweden called 'Svenska Tecknare' (Swedish Artists), and according to their national standard, and illustrator should never go below working for 100 dollars per hour (swedish = 700 kronor).
My dilemma is that the price I take for my commission is not worth the time I spend on them. Especially now when I'm in the start of my freelance career, so until I've worked something out, commissions will be closed for a while.
I'm aware that not everyone can afford commissions for 70-200 dollars, but at the same time, I can't work for 7-9 dollars per hour in this situation. Especially since the dollar is weak compared to the swedish currency 'crowns'.
I would love to hear your opinion about this!
dA birthdayI had my dA-birthday 17th of April, and I've been here for 9 years now... Geez, I feel so old now. ;_____;
Iron Man / Captain America Big Bang EventThis year I've tried something I've never tried before! A BIG BANG EVENT! 8D A Stony/Superhusbands event this time!
A Big Bang event is a community/fandom project where fanfic writers and artists are paired up and do a fic/fanart collab.
The writers usualy write a sample of a fic, and the artists get to choose a piece they like, and illustrate it.
But I'm in a reversed Big Bang, so this time it's the artist who makes the art first, and the writers who get to pick.
I was crazy and did FOUR pices of fanart for this event, and since writers got to claim art twice, I ended up with EIGHT writers! (Or seven rather since one awesome person picked two of my fanarts).
TL;DR; You can find the event here:
[link]We will start putting up fics and fanart in early/middle May! Be sure to check it out if you're a fan of them Superhusbands

I will post the fanarts here on dA later too! And speaking of Iron Man...
Iron Man 3
This will contain some spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie yet, please skip this part! Iron Man 3 had premiere here in Sweden the 24th of April, so I've seen it twice already, and I LOVE IT!
I still can't decide if I like it better than the first movie (and it's LOADS better than the second). Though the first and third movie are so different in their story, it doesn't feel right to compare them like that.
But either way, Iron Man 3 was amazing! It made my laugh so much and cry (Dummy.... ;__; ).
I loved the relationship Tony had with everyone in this movie! I really loved Happy and Rhodey in this movie and they were so badass! Especially Rhodey deserved the screentime and it's so awesome that outside of the armor, Rhodey is still an amazing fighter, which can't always be said about Tony, haha! XD ('m not counting sass as a weapon here). And let's talk about Pepper... Oh god Pepper!
Such a badass they turned her into!! Pepper was freaking amazing in this movie! Not only did they break her damsel in distress character, they also let her fight the final battle herself. I think that was a bold and great movie of Shane Black (director).
FrostThe release date for Frost 4 is a bit postponed.
Because of work I haven't had much time for the next part of Frost an decided to concentrate on something shorter, which ended up becoming 'Vienda'.
I have around 30 pages sketched for the next part though, and I hope to be able to work with Frost 4 during the summer, and maybe bring you a steady release of pages by the end of the summer!

I hope you're all okay with that and that you have patience with me!
Love you all!
